Oi de França,
Sorry, but Eu não falo nem escrevo o português ( g..gle translation ;) )
I'm a french ATCO, member of the dead " Linha da frente " forum.
And I wanted to continue an old thread of that dead forum on that " Aviaçao Portugal " nex one, if you agree...
So,I wanted to know how is working the EU ATCO common licence in
Portugal ? If you have all been granted with it ? Do the military
controllers who manage mostly general aviation have it too or not ? Did
you define the way to accept others european contollers into
NavPortugal ?
And above all what's about your SW Portugal/Spain FAB ? Do the
portuguese controllers speak about it ? Is that FAB going to change your
working status ? Do you think Portugal and Spain will merge in an unique
provider of ATC ?
Muito obrigado anteriormente para suas respostas...
E Feliz ano novo para tudo e uma segurança especial (saudação) no anterior (antigo) de Linha da Frente forum... ;) ;)

The negotiations for the SW FAB continue.
NAV Portugal is going to join ITEC (ATC Software development program) with Indra, DFS and NATS which will contribute for an even better harmonization with AENA.
There are no plans to merge AENA and NAV.

As for the licenses, portuguese civil air traffic controllers have already an license according EU Regulation, both in format as in contents. There are still some issues relating the licenses for military ATCOs.

As for admitting other European ATCOs ...
NAV Portugal is, today, the only Air Navigation Services Provider providing Air Traffic Control in Portugal and NAV Portugal is free to establish it's own rules for admission. There is, however, the possibility to admit other Services Provider if other airports choose to become controlled and open a contest for the service ... No plans for it, though ..
