SURVEY PILOT
BASED IN MALTA
Job description:
The aerial survey pilot serves as pilot in command of aircraft and crew performing photography and remote sensing missions. The pilot is responsible for planning, managing, and executing these missions including coordinating all missions with appropriate agencies in liaison with the system operator and project manager.
Survey pilot needs to be willing to relocate to Malta and travel extensively to project locations around the region.
Fugro Malta Ltd operates a Cessna T207A, two Piper PA-31 (Chieftain), a Piper PA-31 (Navajo) and a Piper PA-23 (Aztec), stationed in Malta.
Besides the above mentioned field activities, the following duties at our office in Malta have to be performed:
• Flight planning and project preparation.
• Involved in flight administration and permiting.
• Serve as pilot in command of Fugro Malta aircraft, responsible for overall execution of mission plan and safety of flight.
• Update maintenance information and flight logs after each flight.
• Might be involved in scheduling and supervising scheduled and unscheduled maintenance while deployed.
• Exercise professional judgement at the job site in determining conditions and procedures under which data collection will be performed. Work as a team with Malta based staff and data acquisition coordinator(s) to set priorities for the sequence of workflow to ensure the most efficient completion of each project.
• Involved in maintaining hangar and facilities.
• Maintaining positive relations with other team members.
Position requirements:
• Have sufficient professional experience as a pilot to safely conduct flight operations
• Specific experience on aircraft within Fugro’s fleet is preferred.
• Minimum experience levels should exceed the following:
• Total time: 1000 hours
• MEP: 500 hours PIC
• Valid Instrument Rating
• Some years experience with survey operations is preferred.
• FAA license would be beneficial
• Instructors rating would be beneficial
• A practical attitude (focused on solutions rather than problems) , ‘hands-on’ mentality and proven to be a good organizer.
• Fluent in English.
• Driven, flexible, self-motivated and independent.
• Open communicator
• Possess a valid drivers license
